Troubleshooting

Supported browsers and common problems

Which browser is right for building? And what do you do if you see “The build environment is open in another tab” or your session expires? Quick fixes for common problems.

Supported browsers

On a computer, building runs a full environment inside your browser, and it works in an up-to-date Chrome or Edge. This is the best building experience.

On phones and iPads a light preview runs: you message the assistant, edit by clicking, open the admin panel and publish your app. The first load is a little slower, and Google sign-in doesn't work inside this preview, so try it from the published link.

Once published, apps work on every browser and device, including phones.

“The build environment is open in another tab”

The build environment runs in one tab at a time.

  1. Close the other Webbe tabs that have the editor open.
  2. Reload the page in the tab you want to work in.

“The build environment didn't start this time”

This sometimes happens because of the connection or the browser. Click “Try again”. If it keeps happening, reload the page and make sure you're using an up-to-date Chrome or Edge.

Session expired

If you see “Your session expired”, sign in again. Your work is saved, and you'll return to the same page.

Previously the “Sign out” button inside your app also ended your Webbe session. We fixed that, and signing out inside the app no longer affects your account.

The build-complete notification doesn't arrive

  • Click the bell button in the top bar, and accept the browser's notification request.
  • If you declined it before, allow notifications for Webbe in your browser settings.
  • Keep the build tab open. You can switch to another one, but don't close it.

Light and dark mode

Webbe follows your device's appearance automatically. To fix it to light or dark, use the appearance button at the top of the page.

To add light and dark mode to your app itself, turn it on in the plan options before building, or click the “Add light and dark mode with a toggle button” suggestion afterwards.

Switching the language

Webbe works in Arabic and English. Use the “English / العربية” button at the top of the site or in the “My account” menu to switch. Your choice is remembered on this browser.
